Mr. Katz is recognized as a leader in field of real estate transactional structuring and taxation. He is regularly called upon to consult on the most complex real estate and largest development transactions in the country. Some of his specific areas of expertise include multi-family housing "80/20" projects funded with tax-exempt bond financing and low income tax credits, real estate mergers into public companies, complex 1031 exchange transactions, acquisition structuring and divestitures including the liquidation of real estate portfolios. In addition, Mr. Katz has performed forensic real estate investigations for commercial and residential property, and retail shopping centers. As testament to his expertise, he was an integral part in the financial structuring of the Time/Warner Center and provided development cost allocation consulting services for the Bloomberg building in New York City.
